I’m also about 95% sure that the Shroud of Turin is authentic
EVERYTHING FITS!
The Shroud has been scientifically studied for more than a hundred years
It has been WORSHIPED as an image of Jesus for at least hundredS of years
Supposedly, it has been scientifically studied more than any other artifact in human history
Late in the 19th century, it was found to be similar to a negative photographic print
As a positive image, it CLEARLY shows a crucified man — a PERFECT replica of the biblical Jesus after his torture and crucifixion
(Photography wasn’t even INVENTED until the 19th century, and the Shroud had been worshiped ever since the 14th century — at least)
The more that scientists studied the Shroud, the more they realized how well it represented the crucified Biblical Jesus
The wounds were in the right places with the right characteristics
The dust on the BODY matches unusual dust from Jerusalem — and was on the right places: feet, knees, hands and nose
The Shroud showed no traces of artist material or brush strokes
The entire image was made from discolored, microscopic linen fibers located on the very surface of the linen cloth
But according to the carbon dating of 1988, the Shroud of Turin was created in the 13th or 14th century
For several years this finding seemed to overshadow all the evidence for authenticity already gathered
But since that time
no one has been able to even nearly reproduce the Shroud
the 1988 studies were found to have numerous flaws (17 apparently)
More recent studies (while having weaknesses of their own) have all found an age of about 2000 years
It would seem to me (and others, much more qualified) that claims against it’s authenticity result from the natural bias towards the necessary “magic” of the Shroud
Obviously, the religious (myself included) are also biased, but again, the arguments AGAINST authenticity of the Shroud have a truth value of about 5% (for me)
The details of the body depicted on the Shroud PERFECTLY MATCH, in numerous ways, the Bible’s description of what ,Jesus suffered on the day of his crucifixion,
The pollen on today’s Shroud reflects its claimed journey from Palestine to Constantinople (Turkey), to Lirey (France), to Chambery (France) and Turin (Italy)
The blood on the Shroud is also a perfect match for what Jesus’ blood should have shown
It’s real human blood
It’sAB positive — rare blood type, typical of Judea
It shows the chemical characteristics appropriate for a man who had been severely tortured prior to death
It shows the shapes of a serious flogging by two Roman flagra
It shows Blood from a living person and also a dead person
Matches blood on the Sudarium of Oviedo (said to be the cloth napkin that covered Jesus’ face under the Shroud) in blood type, location and torture characteristics
As of 10/3/25, Amazon offers 16 different books on the Shroud, and as far as I can tell, the authors ALL either believe in authenticity, or tend to believe in authenticity — here are a few

There were only two ‘discrepancies’ between the Shroud and the Bible story
The “crown of thorns” on the Shroud was just a “cap” of thorns on top of the head
The nails through the hands in the Bible, were through the wrists on the shroud (through the wrists should hold the weight of the body, whereas through the hands should not
The hypothesized explanation for the shroud being that the image was formed by radiation during resurrection – a degree of which we cannot nearly produce today
I could go on and on (really), but instead, I’d suggest that you try Amazon
